Shouldn't I be terrified yet? It's only a mere 5 days away!!!
I haven't registered my subjects!!! Or started packing!!!
Been procrastinating the subject enrollment, but for a very good reason! I don't want to make the wrong choice! Been carefully contemplating and mulling it over because the balance of my inner universe is very delicate.
It's tempting to play it safe but then I know that I must learn something new. Either learn something completely unfamiliar, or to gain even more improvement in a familiar area.
The freedom to choose is all good but the outcome or satisfaction will probably depend on what I have learned... it needs to be some skill, some knowledge that is applicable to the working world!
I think I have an idea what I want to do in the future. It's just a thought, an inkling... well, it's still a very loose definition of my goal but somehow, 'I want to work for magazines' is a lot better than 'oh I don't know what I want to do, just anything in communications, really'.
I mean, of course, I am still open to options, but I think working in the field of magazines might be cool. I think for the time being, only editorial is within my reach since I haven't any other skills yet (my design skills are barely there). Speaking of which, my writing and interviewing skills have not been utilized of late. So I'm hoping to brush it up since I have not been actively writing for any publication or any solid reason. Wonder if I still got it in me to produce a brilliant story/masterpiece. I must bring out the power that is lying dormant within me, somehow.
There's this part from a Taylor Swift song lyrics that says, 'I just realized that everything I have is someday going to be gone.' And for me, the day is about to dawn. What do I lose by moving to Adelaide (short-term) in search of a better future? Nothing much... just my family, which is everything. They are who I am, and who I am most comfortable with. In a way, they are also my treasure. I'd like to think that the small disappointments they feel about me sometimes would not set them back. I try to make up in every way possible for my habits, I know that they understand me in all aspects so thank you so much, guys. For putting up with me all the time. I'll miss you.
Okay. I'll try not to be lonely. Really, I will try, for myself. For the love of me, I can't despair since it is a good route that I have chosen to tread on. Think of it as a journey, just like hiking!
With a 5-days-away looming deadline, there's so much that needs to be done. And I haven't even start to move an inch. Brings back that Olsen twins song, 'So little time, so much to do, I'd rather spend the day with you!' (On a side note, I just spent today playing sparklers and fireworks with younger siblings!)
So, what's to keep me from getting distracted, you ask? Loads.
There's Taylor Swift. And then there's the GRAMMYS. And right there you have it. Just found out that Taylor is the opening act for GRAMMYS!! Wow, I was already rooting for her to win the Grammys. Really hope she does win and pull off a stunning performance and costume at the same time!
And Ed Sheeran!!! It is all thanks to Taylor Swift that we Swifties get to know Ed better (I just want to know you better, know you better, now). I've heard 'The A Team' several times when it was hot on the radio but after Taylor said her fav song is 'Lego House', I checked it out and then I totally fell in love. He's just so talented and his voice is one of the best, it's very soothing (especially in Lego House). To top it off, he wrote 'Little Things'!! It's one of my favourite songs although Ed doesn't sing it after he passed it to 1D.
Music is food for the soul! I'm obsessed about and grateful to have known Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran's music. Slow songs with meaningful lyrics are very nice, but some of the faster tracks can be a lot of fun too. Live performances or concerts are my favourite things to Youtube now.
I've just finished Merlin and the main arc of Sword Art Online. SAO has a very nice ending for the first arc, so I might not be watching the second arc as I want to leave it there, where everything has ended nicely. Cheers to Kirito and Asuna for clearing the game, fighting honestly with integrity of a true player and maintaining such a wonderful chemistry and lovely relationship.
And as for Merlin, the Knights of Camelot are so interesting and funny, they rock in all the action scenes- they will be sorely missed; Arthur shouldn't have died like that without solving the problems of The Old Religion and without leaving a heir, the ending does not do much justice to Merlin although it is great that Arthur acknowledged him, Guinevere serves no purpose in the entire season, while Morgana's death is rushed and shouldn't have been so effortless.
Last but not least, the actor of grown-up Mordred ruins everything about Mordred- from his look to his character- I have never seen anything less Mordred-like. He does not have the chilly presence or commanding air nor blazing eyes of child Mordred- a better actor should have been cast for the role- someone who is more impressionable. Plot/script-wise, there is no reason a Druid boy with strong magic (that even Emrys fear him) should have to be a knight of Camelot serving under Arthur.
War is waged. Victory is won. Sacrifice is made. Quite simple. The main draft I can see goes something like: Morgana-Arthur war, Old Religion-non-magic war, Battle won-battle lost, King fallen-Villain dies.
I don't know if I could come up with a better script at all, but it is my right as a viewer to rant about unsatisfying endings or characters. I really like the series and it is quite sad to hear that there won't be any more episodes of Merlin. I guess a finale is a finale. It is final.
Best wishes to Colin Morgan and Bradley James, it has been fun to witness their brotherhood.
And best wishes to myself for future endeavours as well. It is about time I leave the nest:) All I can do is fly, and fly high, believing in myself will be all I have to keep me from falling.
